Mr. Senate does Cameo for Hollywood film!

Mr. Senate played himself in a scene shot for a new Hollywood film. It is a film about ghost hunting and psychics titled LA Paranormal. Watch for him when the film comes out in perhaps a year or so. “Don’t blink,” says Mr. Senate, “If you do you may miss me.” The film looks like it will be a fun picture.

Mr. Senate is featured in the recent issue of Haunted Times Magazine.

An article on a haunted barn in The Carson Valley, Nevada is the focus of a story on the murder of Sam Brown, the Nevada gunfighter. It is also linked to a lost gold mine as well. The barn is built over the site of a hotel when the murderous gunfighter met his end.

The quest to find the burial site of Mr. Brown still eluded Mr. Senate as there are two sites for his grave and the tombstone, being made of wood, is long gone. Perhaps psychic archaeology can find the site. Pick up a copy or check it out on line.

Psychic Archaeology at Olivas locates burials & lost tunnel.

On March 28 a team of Mr. Senate’s students gathered to seek data on the legendary family burial grounds at the old Adobe. The stories say that the family buried their dead in the corner of the courtyard. The next owner removed the tombstones and the grave sites are lost. The dowsing rods were used and located three burials inside the court –Two men and a baby. The team also looked for the storied Native American graveyard, and found four burial sites. Two were a man and woman, buried side by side. The man seemed too tall for a Native American, and the rods were used to determine he was part Irish and worked at the ranch as a coachman. An illness took his life and that of his wife.

The team also located the rout of the lost tunnel. It was dug by the Olivas Family as an escape tunnel if the Hacienda was ever attacked. All the data was recorded and can not be confirmed until someone excavates the grounds in the future. “Now if we had only found the lost treasure,” commented Mr. Senate with a laugh.

Psychic Investigation at Camulos Adobe.

The historic Camulos Adobe, the storied home of Ramona, is a California landmark. Some believe that the complex of buildings is haunted by several spirits. Mr. Senate took a team to the site after getting permission from the group running the adobe. The team toured the place and, got several odd readings on their equipment as well as some distinct psychic impressions. The Sala and the book room (also called the Rose Room) were the focal points of the investigation. Much was left over energies rather than true haunts. Still, more investigations might uncover more at this fabulous site. Mr. Senate and the Ventura Paranormal Team wish to express many thanks to the docents of the Camulos Adobe for their help in this investigation.

Mr. Senate’s new book: Flight of the Hercules on Lulu.

It is an adventure novel of an 1895 voyage by balloon. It is his first published fictional work. It sells for $9.99 and can be purchased on Amazon.com and Lulu.com. I hope people find it a fun romp. For those who would like a direct link try:

Mr. Senate offers wedding services

Long ago Mr. Senate joined the Universal Life Church. There were many reasons he and his friends, Bob Young and Marcelo Siero did this. But over the years it has been a fun thing. Now Mr. Senate is offering to marry people. “I want to offer a service to the public,” he says. “I discovered most charge $300 for this service—I believe in this economic time that’s a bit high so I will conduct the service for $100. I will also do house Blessings, Funeral services and Motivational talks.” This applies to Ventura/Santa Barbara Counties with a slight increase to travel father. Mr. Senate’s first wedding in decades on board the paddlewheel vessel SS Scarlet Belle was a real hit. “It was just perfect,” commented one wedding guest.

  1. Hi, Richard--it's Sharon from Out of the Earth on California Street. Hey, some friends and I are staying at the Bella Maggiore Hotel on the 16th and I'm curious about room 17, Sylvia's room. I'd like to know if the room (not the hotel--I know that--but the room itself) has ever been renovated after she died since the bulk of the psychic imprint seems to be near the entry door to the room. Please email me or call the shop or drop by--hartprairie@dslextreme.com Thanks!

  2. Hi Richard, I am a neophyte so I am limited to what I know. I do know this, a few years ago, and I was a witness to this, my wife suddenly screamed and told me that she saw a large face staring at her. We were just going to sleep. She told me the face had slanted eyes and pulled back black hair. My neighbors told me their daughter saw Chumash Indians hanging out in their backyard late at night. I saw your show with Zak Bagans. I would love to go on a ghost hunt, but am afraid of demons. Thanks for your time. Mark S.

  3. I am building up a database of paranormal investigators so people can I have place to find you. You can do all of the promoting you like too in fact I encourage it. The more your name is out there the easier it is for people to find you if they need help. You can set up your own group, forum, blog, whatever helps with your promotion.

    Just a little background:

In memory of my Grandfather, Jesse Marcel Sr., I thought a social network site would be a great way for people to share their experiences with the paranormal. For those of you who do not know who he was, he was the first military officer at the scene of a UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico, commonly referred to as the “Roswell Incident”. If you do not recognize his name, just Google it and you will find all of the information you could possibly need. This incident set the stage for UFO enthusiasts and Paranormal Investigators around the world to start the questioning, “what is the truth”, “are we alone” “what is our government not telling us”, “what is it that goes bump in the night?” It has become a part of our everyday culture. Since our father Jesse Marcel Jr., also knew the truth, (after all, his father showed him pieces of the UFO wreckage at the age of 9) he became fascinated with astronomy. He began working on a project that would yield a telescope that could compete with the best telescopes out there. It was contained underground in our backyard with a large rotating metal dome, it was magnificent, and we loved it. From that point on our eyes had been opened too, looking through that eyepiece of the telescope was amazing there was just to much space out there for us to be alone. What a gift our father had given us, opening our eyes to the realm of the unknown. Since most people have heard of the Roswell Incident, we wanted to share with you our experience with a haunting. After our mother had passed away, our father remarried and moved to Helena Montana, we had been previously living in Clancy Montana, to a big beautiful house with a history, locals referred to this home as The Tatem-Young house. Benjamin H. and Lydia M. Tatem came west as newlyweds in 1869, they settled in Helena where Tatem managed the Unionville mining claims of Philadelphia investors and operated Helena Iron Works. Tatem profited from his interests in the Bald Butte Mine near Marysville. The Tatems, famous for their hospitality, built this stunning Tudor style home circa 1895. In 1901, President McKinley appointed Tatem U.S. Assayer of Helena's federal office at 214 Broadway, Tatem died in 1915. In 1922, at age 82, Lydia Tatem was killed when she fell beneath the wheels of the Kenwood streetcar at Benton and Lawrence (this is who people think haunt the house since she was killed on the night of her anniversary), Lieutenant General Samuel Baldwin Marks Young and Anne Dean Huntley Young, sister of renowned Helena physician Dr. Maria Dean, subsequently purchased the home. In 1956, Carroll College acquired the property from Ellen Dean Child Nichols, Mrs. Young’s niece. Both nuns and priests had lived at one point or another in the house and from what we understood they heard things that could not be explained, as did we. The upstairs of the house seemed to have the most activity. Lights would turn on after we just turned them off. We would constantly hear what sounded like loud crashes as if someone had been trying to break in, running up the stairs we would hope to catch a glimpse of something but we never did. The entire family had different experiences, ranging from seeing glowing green lights and turned over dressers. So as you see I have been around the “paranormal” my whole life.
